Today I had the opportunity to test drive the new Range Rover Velar SUV from Land Rover. For this first drive I was given a R-Dynamic HSE D300 with its 300bhp, 700nm V6 Diesel. In Firenze Red with black pack and black windsor leather interior.
Range Rover Velar Incontrol Touch Pro duo
So what’s all the fuss about the new InControl Touch Pro Duo infotainment system? The Range Rover Velar will be the first Jaguar Land Rover vehicle to feature this revolutionary new system.
At its heart is an Intel Quad Core processor and a high speed 60gb solid-state hard drive. Linked up to two high definition 10 inch touch screens by an ultrafast ethernet network. This makes for a smooth user interaction and high quality graphics. 4G connectivity opens up a world of online functions and location based services.
Land Rover UK have announced that the new Range Rover Velar is available for first public viewings starting today. Early Velar models will be available at the following locations over the next month.

Land Rover have announced that the new Range Rover Velar will make a regional tour around U.K. dealers.
The tour will begin in Liverpool and Yeovil on the 2nd May 2017 and will allow customers to see the Velar in the flesh. Product experts will be on hand to answer any questions. The tour will continue over the coming months to include all dealers around the country.

When the Velar was initially revealed, some of the press release literature referenced the availability of 6 engines. But when all the specs were published only 5 engines were available? Two Petrol and three Diesels.
The new Range Rover Velar was shown off this week at the glitzy Geneva Motor Show.
It allowed attendees a good opportunity to study the design and play with the fantastic new infotainment system.
A cutaway model allowed visitors a great view of the stunning interior. In this case trimmed in the Light Oyster/Ebony two tone perforated Windsor leather.
Range Rover Velar
Released on the 1st March 2017, the Range Rover Velar is the first new model in a number of years. Designed to fit in to the range, both in price, and size, between the Evoque and the larger, Range Rover Sport. The Range Rover Velar should start to hit the roads in owners hands in September 2017.
There are five engine options are available in the new Range Rover Velar. These include 3 Diesels, two 4 Cylinder in two states of tune and a 6 Cylinder.
There is also the option of two petrol engines, a 4 cylinder and a 6 cylinder supercharged variant. The specifications for each motor is listed below.
The new Range Rover Velar has been launched at the Design Museum in London by Gerry McGovern – Chief Design Officer at Land Rover.
The Velar will initially be available with 5 Engine options and 3 levels of trim. With a clean simple design featuring copper accents, Matrix Laser LED Headlights, LED rear light clusters and cool retractable door handles.
