Range Rover Velar SVR spied testing at Nürburgring

Hot new Range Rover Velar SVR

Barely a few months after announcing the Range Rover Velar. The range topping SVR has been spotted in camouflage lapping the the now standard performance testing ground, the Nürburgring in Germany.

The Range Rover Velar SVR is expected to have the same 5.0 Litre Supercharged Petrol V8 as the Range Rover Sport SVR.  It produces 550bhp and in the lightweight aluminium body of the Velar should provide a sub 4.5 second 0-60 time. The top speed in the region of 170mph, if not electronically restricted.

To handle all the extra power the fast Velar SVR will have uprated brembo brakes and suspension tweaks to sharpen the handling.

The fact that the Range Rover Velar SVR is in camouflage indicates that there will be some styling tweaks. Expect a subtle but purposeful body kit including diffusers and model specific lightweight alloy wheels. It is also likely that the Velar SVR will have is own range of colours available in addition to the standard ones available.


Expect the changes to be fairly subtle, bespoke badges and maybe figure hugging sports seats will be the order of the day. Being a sporty model infotainment tweaks may include standard fitment configurable dynamics and timing equipment.

Pricing and Specification

The Velar SVR will have range topping levels of standard equipment and a range topping price. Its place as a sub RR Sport model pricing is expected to be in the region of £90000. Indications show that Range Rover Velar SVR will be available in the first half of 2018.
